The Mazda6 comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 184 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. Mazda's Skyactiv-MT 6-speed manual transmission and the Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic are innovative and have a great feel. The latter employs aspects of both torque-converter and dual-clutch transmissions to deliver both excellent low-speed feel and admirably quick shifts. The transmissions are lightweight and help the Mazda6 turn in laudable fuel economy of up to 38 mpg on the highway.
