Mazda Motor Corporation is building a new present for SUV lovers. The Japanese car company began production on the all-new Mazda CX-5 crossover at the end of November 2016, just in time for the holidays. Mazda’s new pride and joy will go on sale in Japan in February before it drives onto dealerships in global markets.

The original CX-5 was born in 2011 and has since grown into a core model for the brand. In April 2015, cumulative production climbed to one million units, making it the second-fastest Mazda to reach the milestone after the Mazda3. In fact, it accounts for about a quarter of Mazda’s sales volume every year.

The original CX-5 introduced drivers to a full range of SKYACTIV Technology and KODO—Soul of Motion design. SKYACTIV next generation technologies include gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, body, and chassis.
