Mazda always tries to do something to give back, and this year they did that at the 2016 Mazda Road to 24 Shootout.

After two days of stiff competition at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana, Matt Cresci won. The $100,000 prize scholarship, the largest award in grassroots motorsports.

Because he won the shootout, Cresci can compete in the 2017 Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires April 20-23 at the Barber Motorsports Park, near Birmingham, Alabama.

He is also a recent graduate of Santa Clara University with a business degree.
